Which Game Pass plan fits your PC, console and cloud use?
Check the current plan comparison, game availability and your region before paying for features you cannot use.
In brief
Choose Game Pass around the device and games you will use. The current official comparison distinguishes Essential, Premium, Ultimate and PC Game Pass; old articles using retired plan names can lead you to the wrong features.
A game appearing in one catalogue does not establish that it is available on your platform, in your plan or through cloud streaming.
Start with the device
For Windows-only play, compare PC Game Pass with the broader plans instead of automatically selecting the highest tier. For console play, check online multiplayer and the particular catalogue. For cloud play, confirm both supported markets and the plan’s current stream allowance on the checkout shown to you.
Check a title rather than a catalogue headline
Open the title’s official page and check platform, plan and edition. DLC and premium editions may be separate purchases. If day-one access matters, confirm it for that title and plan; a large library total does not answer that question.
Plan for a game leaving
Subscription access is temporary under the service terms. Before buying DLC for a subscription game, understand whether you will need to buy the base game if it leaves. Note the recurring billing date and compare the full period cost with buying only the titles you expect to finish.
Before you act
Availability, cloud allowances and pricing can change by market. Do not use another country’s checkout or assume your country is supported just because the site loads.
What to do next
- List your devices and the specific games you want.
- Use the official plan table and game page for your account region to check access.
- Review recurring cost, renewal and any cloud limits before purchasing.
