Request a GOG refund and keep the transaction details clear
Check GOG’s current refund window, select the order and distinguish wallet credit from returning the original payment.
In brief
GOG’s voluntary policy currently allows a refund request within 30 days of purchase, including games downloaded or played. Submit through your purchase history or support rather than assuming deleting the game triggers a refund.
The order number and requested refund destination help avoid a long exchange about which transaction or outcome you mean.
Identify the purchase precisely
Use the account that placed the order and note its purchase date. A purchase from another seller is not automatically covered as a direct GOG transaction. If the game arrived as a gift or the order has unusual conditions, explain that in the request rather than copying the standard assumption.
State the requested outcome
Describe the real reason briefly, such as a compatibility issue or mistaken edition, and specify the relevant order. Check the refund destination before confirming. Do not include payment-card numbers or passwords in the message; the support account and order identify the transaction.
Close the loop after approval
Keep the response and confirm the balance or returned payment at the destination. A refunded purchase no longer gives you the same licence rights; retained offline installer files are not permission to keep using a refunded game. Follow up on the existing request if the transaction remains unresolved.
Before you act
GOG reviews requests and can address abuse under its policy. Wallet credit and a refund to the original payment method are not equivalent, and processing time depends on the destination.
What to do next
- Sign in to GOG and locate the order in purchase history.
- Use the refund request option or the support form and identify the product and reason.
- Review whether you are requesting wallet credit or money back, then keep the confirmation.
